Itinerant arts circuits

A number of tourist professionals, including “Si près des prés”, have opened up their premises to the work of painters and sculptors, at weekends throughout the month of April.

Traditional crafts

“Vieux Métiers” (traditional crafts) welcomes some 20,000 visitors every Sunday during the month of May, and remains open to the public every Friday afternoon until mid-August.

Fish festival

The annual draining of the Lachaussée lakes attracts more and more visitors to Meuse county each Sunday in the month of November to sample the taste of fried fish and freshwater fish.

 

The “marche du souvenir” hike

The hike, organised every year by the Damvillers Association of Municipal Councils, is an important hub of communication for hikers.

• “Le vent des forêts” (forest wind) a contemporary art creation set in the rural landscape, from March to the end of September.

• Itinerant arts circuits, starting in 2008, provide an opportunity to discover amateur and professional painters and sculptors exhibiting their works in hotels, bed and breakfasts, tourist offices and town halls every Sunday during the month of April.

• The “marche du souvenir” hike, organised every year by the DAMVILLERS Association of Municipal Councils.

• The “vieux metiers” traditional crafts in Azannes every Sunday in the month of May, and then every Friday until 15 August.

• Giant maize field labyrinth in Bras sur Meuse in July and August.

• The show “Des flammes à la Lumière” (from flames to light) in June and July.

• The “Reg’arts partagés” arts event in August throughout the Damvillers Association of Municipal Councils.

• From 25 August, free wild flower gathering as part of the “Graines de paysage” operation.

• The fish festival at the Lachaussée lakes throughout the month of November.

• The Muzeray nativity scenes, on view for the month of December, every other year, where the whole village becomes a museum displaying nativity scenes from around the world.
