Our House

In a small renovated farm set in a large garden at 6 rue des Prés in Azannes, Meuse, Dominique and I have fitted out four rooms, including a family suite, providing bed and breakfast accommodation as part of the Gîtes de France network, with private parking facilities inside the property.

We were attributed Meuse Accueil label as of December 1st 2007, guaranteeing the quality of our services.

Numerous restaurants can be found within a 15 km radius offering a chance to appreciate Lorraine cooking.

The many leisure areas offer an invitation to relax, either alone or in company, to read, take it easy or have fun...

The reception lounge

The lounge, with its deep sofas, the trickling of the waterfall, and the peaceful effect of the two aquariums set into the wall, encourages you to relax.

Leaflets and books about the various activities going on in Meuse will enable you to find out about local culture.

The dinning room

A huge table seating 16 people, framed by two antique sideboards and a hundred year old piano, is placed opposite a majestic fireplace.

Between this pleasant room and the lounge, a sofa set into an alcove offers you a little privacy to gaze at the flames dancing in the hearth.

A kitchenette, equipped with a microwave, a small fridge, electric kettle and coffee percolator, means you are free to prepare a snack at any time.

The privatesitting room

A private sitting room, where five or six people can enjoy the library in front of a fire burning in the original hearth. A television is available for sports and news fans.

Veranda

The sitting room gives onto the veranda, the five steps leading you down to discover the pond surrounded by luxuriant, timeless vegetation. This is where you can make the most of the sunshine and the garden at any time of the year, beyond the green curtain of the willow tree.

The games room

With a billiard table that can be used for French and English billiards or American pool, an Indian billiards game and an electronic dartboard, this room on the mezzanine floor overlooking the relaxation area, is a place to let go and have fun.

Several board games are available.

Relaxation area

The facilities consist of a gym next to a balneotherapy area with shower, spa and sauna, providing the opportunity to really relax. You can also book a session with our beautician, Astride, for anti-stress or facial treatments.

In fine weather, the solarium terrace lets you soak up the benefits of the sun.

Car park

 A private, enclosed car park can take up to six cars or a dozen motorbikes, or can be converted into a volleyball or basketball court.

The garden

The garden is classed as a nature garden, in partnership with the LPO (Bird Protection League), and has a number of surprising features, including:

• a shared terrace, protected from the wind and giving onto the tortoise park, where, depending on the season, you may choose to have breakfast outside, in the fragrance of the roses and honeysuckle;

• a path winding through the espaliered apple trees and a quickset hedge, and round the pond that has been made safe for your children, behind a rustic fence and finally leading to the boules pitch;
  
  
• the lawn, a green carpet between the hedges, beckons you to sit back in deckchairs, or if you feel up to it, provides the ideal setting for an old fashioned game of croquet;
  
  
• he vegetable garden is bordered with strawberries plants, red current bushes, raspberry bushes and aromatic herbs;
